PRIME MINISTER BROWNE EMBARKS ON PACKED AGENDA AT COP27

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne is in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt for the United Nations climate change conference, COP27.
Prime Minister Browne, who is also chair of the Alliance of Small Island States, AOSIS, is set to continue to push for climate justice including compensation for loss and damage.
Prime Minister Browne also co-chairs a high-level United Nations panel which is crafting a multi-dimensional vulnerability index to better determine small states’ access to concessional funding.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has amplified calls for collective global action on climate change.
He says wealthier countries and international financial organizations should provide financial and technical assistance to help emerging economies speed up their own renewable energy transition.
