TEMPORARY SHORTAGE OF COOKING GAS AS UNFAVOURABLE SEAS PREVENT DOCKING OF SUPPLY SHIP
Consumers are being asked to conserve Liquefied Petroleum Gas amidst a temporary shortage. West Indies Oil Company says a ship with fresh supplies of cooking gas has been unable to dock in recent days because of unfavourable sea conditions. WIOC Chief Executive Officer Gregory Georges says several other countries in the region have also encountered challenges in having their stocks replenished because of the rough seas.
The situation is set to ease as the ship is set to return to Antigua in coming days, by which time sea conditions are expected to improve. Georges says his team has also been seeking to secure LPG from other sources as they await the arrival of the fresh supplies.
