ECCAA REPORTS PROGRESS IN EFFORTS TO REGAIN CATEGORY ONE AVIATION STATUS
The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) says it has now completed all major regulatory reforms required to regain the region’s category one aviation status.
The update comes some five years after the region was downgraded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Director-general Anthony Whittier told participants at ECCAA’s legal seminar on Thursday that the authority has finalized all regulations tied to aviation safety management and operational practices, key areas the FAA evaluates before granting category one status.
Whittier says the authority is ready for FAA technical team’s onsite visit, while it prepares for the second assessment.
