US YET TO PROVIDE OFFICIAL DETAILS ABOUT PAUSE ON PROCESSING OF GREEN CARD APPLICATIONS

Antigua and Barbuda and 10 other Caricom countries are reportedly on a new list from which the processing of United States immigrant visas or green cards will be paused as of next week.

In all, 75 countries around the world are on the reported new list from the US State Department.

US broadcaster Fox News, which reports seeing the memo, says it is aimed at cracking down on applicants deemed likely to become a public charge.

Antigua and Barbuda’s top diplomat in Washington, Sir Ronald Sanders was the first ambassador from one of affected Caricom countries on the list to reach out to the State Department for a response.
