Antiguan and Barbudan sprinter Soniya Jones will take to the track on Saturday to contest the women’s 60-metre event at the World Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland.

Jones, the twin-island state’s lone competitor at the three-day meet, will be in lane 1 of heat 7 at approximately 6:47am Eastern Caribbean Time. Jones’ personal best in the event is 7.41 seconds, which she has run this season.

Great Britain’s Amy Hunt, with a personal best of 7.04 seconds, run this season, and Ewa Swoboda, the only athlete in that heat with a sub-7-second personal best, are the pre-race favourites.

There are seven round-one heats, with the top three from each heat qualifying automatically to the semi-finals, where they will be joined by the three fastest non-automatic qualifiers.

Other Caribbean athletes are set to line up in the 60-metres, including St Lucia’s Julien Alfred and Jamaica’s Jonielle Smith and Brianna Lyston.
