SIR RONALD SANDERS URGES ‘SPIRIT OF CONSENSUS’ AHEAD OF OAS GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Antigua and Barbuda is urging member states of the Organisation of American States to match Panama’s preparations for the next general assembly with a spirit of consensus and cooperation.
Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the OAS, Sir Ronald Sanders, issued the call as he spoke during a meeting of the hemispheric grouping’s permanent council in Washington on Thursday.
Panama is set to host the 56th regular session of the OAS General Assembly from June 22 to 24, 2026.
Sir Ronald says Antigua and Barbuda understands the scale of that responsibility, having hosted the regular session last year.
