COMPENSATION FOR OUTAGE-RELATED DAMAGE MUST BE EVIDENCED-BASED – APUA

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority says its customers can receive compensation for their appliances being damaged from unplanned power outages.

However, engineer in the Electricity Business Unit, Girvin Pigott, makes it clear these claims must be evidence-based.

The utility is also urging customers to ensure their homes have grounded electrical installations and to use surge protectors.
