Ministry Cautions Parents About School Transfers
Members of the public are being cautioned by the Ministry of Education that transfers for students who recently received their Grade Six results will only be granted in certain instances.
In a statement, the education department registered its disapproval with having to transfer students from one school to another after the official list has been published.
However, officials say there may be dire circumstances that would require a review of placements, and as such, persons must follow guidelines that have been established.
Persons seeking a Grade Six transfer must write a letter addressed to the Director of Education outlining the reasons why you are requesting the move. The letter must contain a contact number.
Each applicant will then be advised by the ministry of education of a scheduled appointment for an interview, or to be informed of the decision.
Persons have until July 18, 2014, when the application period will end.
The ministry of education has outlined that no requests for transfers will be acknowledged beyond this week.
It is noted that an application for transfer does not guarantee the request will be honoured.
