PM BROWNE PRAISED FOR ‘STEADFAST COMMITMENT’ ON EYE HEALTH
Prime Minister the Right Honourable Gaston Browne has been praised for elevating the issue of eyecare to the global stage.
The commendation came from chief global affairs officer of RestoringVision, Amb. Keisha McGuire, as the Prime Minister’s Vision Initiative was launched at Villa Community Centre on Thursday.
She praised Prime Minister Browne for elevating this issue if vision care onto the global stage.
As part of the first phase, residents aged 40 and over will be able to access vision screenings at designated clinics.
Twenty-five thousand pairs of reading glasses will be distributed to people with presbyopia – a common age-related condition that makes it difficult to see things up close.
Those with other vision problems will be referred for further care.
