ABST RELIEF FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL SHOPPING SET FOR AUGUST 28 AND 29

Families will get another break on the cost of back-to-school shopping, with the government set to introduce a reduction in the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax on selected items within days.
It has been confirmed that the reduction in the ABST will take effect on August 28 and 29, just in time for more cost-savings on back-to-school items.
The move follows the government’s first ABST relief weekend in April, when shoppers received a respite on selected items.
The decisions were initially announced earlier this year to help as part of a slew of measures being taken by the government in response to cost-of-living concerns.
Full details are to be provided during the post cabinet media briefing at 9 Thursday morning.
