GOVERNMENT OWES WIOC OVER $15M FOR MONTHS OF FUEL SUBSIDIES TO KEEP PRICES LOW
West Indies Oil Company says the government now owes it about $15 million, because of the subsidies provided to cushion consumers from the full impact of fuel costs over the past six months.
The government has since announced a $2-dollar increase for each gallon of gasoline and diesel, as it passes on some of the increased fuel costs to motorists.
