MEN’S SUPER50 AND WOMEN’S T20 BLAIZE SUSPENDED IN CWI OVERHAUL

Cricket West Indies says there will be no Men’s Super50 Cup this year.

Chief executive officer of Cricket West Indies Chris Dehring says the move is part of efforts to redirect scare resources to programmes that are more impactful and cost effective.

The Women’s T20 Blaize is also being suspended, with the top four finishers in the tournament earlier this year qualifying for the Pan Am Games.

The CWI CEO also says domestic retainer contracts for players have been cut from 12 to 7 months while international retainers face a 25 per cent reduction in fees.
