Antigua And Barbuda Commits To Helping Reform The United Nations Process

Antigua and Barbuda is expressing a commitment to support the Peoples Republic of China in efforts to reform the United Nations.

Prime Minister, Hon Gaston Browne gave the commitment during a meeting with a visit from a senior foreign ministry official.

PM Browne says the two countries are celebrating 32 years of formal diplomatic relations and Antigua and Barbuda and China have shared common principles.

The Prime Minister notes the many areas of development assistance Antigua and Barbuda has received from China. He also shares the country’s vision for the development of the St John’s harbor with a loan facility from China.

In response, China’s Special Envoy for Caribbean Affairs, Ambassador Liu Juan Xing, recalled that it was an ALP Administration that first established ties with China.
