Antigua & Barbuda On Cusp of Regional Hub for Eye Care

Health Minister, Hon. Michael M. Joseph, has proposed the establishment of a national Eye Hospital with the potential to serve patients not only in Antigua & Barbuda across the OECS.

The idea was advanced during talks with international eye-care organization Orbis during meetings held on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York.  The proposed facility would focus on expanding specialist eye care and tackling preventable blindness.  He was joined by Antigua and Barbuda’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Walton Webson.
