GUYANA NO CONFIDENCE VOTE IS VALID

Breaking news from Guyana: The Caribbean court of Justice has ruled that the no-confidence motion passed against the David Granger administration last December, was valid.

The CCJ, which is Guyana’s final appellate court, handed down the judgement this morning, indicating that the 33 votes used to carry the motion, satisfied the constitution.

Meanwhile, the court did not say what would be the effect of its ruling on the holding of general elections.
