The Christmas Barrel Initiative Returns With Less Hassle For Residents

Residents will have a better time taking advantage of the annual Christmas barrel initiative.
Thanks in large part to the ASYCUDA system, which will be used to bring greater efficiency to the process.
The Christmas barrel initiative begins 1st December and runs until 5th January.
Comptroller of Customs Raju Boddu says persons only need to take their shipping documents to a customs officer at the sea port or at the cargo section of the airport.

Mr. Boddu says more service points and more staff have been deployed in anticipation of at least a ten percent increase in the programme.
He says with the recent hurricane disasters that struck the islands, he expects that persons will be using the initiative to get needed supplies to their family and loved ones.
Under the initiative, householders can import clothing, foodstuff and toiletries. As Mr. Baddu explains, only the ten percent recovery charge and a $10 handling fee are required to get your barrels.
