VC BIRD AIRPORT FULLY PREPARED FOR ARRIVAL OF PASSENGERS FOR HOME-PORTING

The V.C. Bird International Airport says it is ready for the hive of activities on Saturday when the Arvia Cruise ship docks at Heritage Quay.
The vessel is the largest cruise vessel the nation will have welcomed to date and will signal the start of home-porting operations in St John’s.
The busy day will see three Virgin Atlantic charter flights arriving with passengers, who will begin their Caribbean cruise excursions from Heritage Quay.
The airport’s role is pivotal in ensuring passengers and their luggage move seamlessly from their aircraft to buses.
The buses will transport them from the tarmac to their cruise vessel.
The airport’s director of operations, Joseph Samuel outlines the meticulous preparations in place.
