“We will not be held to ransom” – says PM

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Sep. 18, CMC – Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar says her government will not be held to ransom by environmentalist Dr. Wayne Kublalsingh who began a second hunger strike Wednesday in a bid to stop work on the Debe to Mon Desir stretch of the Point Fortin Highway, south of here.

Late Wednesday, the Prime Minister, in a personal letter to Kublalsingh said while she respects his right to express his views, she felt compelled to write him on the futility of his actions.
