WEST INDIES OIL COMPANY TO LIST ON ECSE THIS SUMMER

West Indies Oil Company is to become the first Antiguan and Barbudan company to list on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange.
The government says the company will be on the regional equities market by the first week of July this year.
The Government has already made available 10 percentage points of its 51 per cent stake to allow Antiguans and Barbudans to purchase shares in the energy company.
The impending listing will allow these investors the option of trading shares on a regional exchange.
Information minister Hon. Melford Nicholas says the government hopes other local entities will meet the requirements for listing to tap into this source of raising capital.
He also says this is another seminal achievement for WIOC following the Government’s acquisition of a majority stake in the entity.
