West Indies women have won the first One Day International against India women by 1 run in a last-over thriller. India women were dismissed for 224 off their 50 overs chasing 226 for victory. Anisa Mohammed’s five-wicket haul ensured the hosts won the openig game at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, giving an Independence Day gift to Antigua and Barbuda.

Shawnisha Hector made history by becoming the first Antiguan to be included in the starting 11. She bowled two overs for 19 runs. The second match in the 3-match series takes place on Sunday starting at 1:30 pm.
