$8000 Fine for Motorist who Mauled Tahje Browne
Kishroy Harry, a 24-year-old Vincentian has been fined EC$8,000 after pleading guilty to four traffic offences linked to a crash that seriously injured national cyclist Tahje Browne.
Harry fled the scene after the June 20th collision on Sir Walling Highway and was later arrested at V.C. Bird International Airport while attempting to leave Antigua. Harry was convicted of dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without the owner’s consent, and driving without insurance.
During his sentencing Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emmanuel said she considered his age, previous good character, remorse, and early guilty plea, resulting in a one-third reduction in his sentence.
