Commission Announces That Barbudans Will Have To Vote In Antigua Should A General Election Be Called Anytime Soon
Now should the general elections be called anytime soon, where would residents of Barbuda vote?
A large segment of the island’s voting population was displaced following the passage of hurricane Irma last year and is now living on mainland Antigua.
Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Nathaniel ‘Paddy’ James, in response to this issue, says Barbudans will have to cast their ballots here in Antigua.
James explains that if voting centres are opened on the two islands it could open the door to possibilities of fraud.
