Golden Grove resident faces firearm and drug charges

Police have arrested 28 year old Ezioke Henry after he was allegedly held with an illegal firearm and ammunition Friday afternoon. The Dockyard Police say they were on mobile patrol when Henry’s actions near a bus stop in English Harbour aroused their suspicion.

Police say they searched his knapsack and found a .25 pistol and 8 rounds of ammunition. Law enforcers say a further search of his home yielded a .25 spent shell, while 24 cannabis plants were reportedly found growing in his yard, significantly more than what is allowed under amended legislation.

The illegal items were seized and police say he is expected to be charged and taken before the court next week.
