POLICE WEEK 2019 OPENS

The 2019 Police Week of activities were launched today with the now customary street parade through St. John’s.

Members of the Force participated in the spectacle which piqued the interest of many in the capital.

The exercise called attention to the theme of Police Week 2019; Raising the Standard of Policing through Equality and Integrity.

As the public showed their support to the lawmen, the police reciprocated with their own expressions of love.

The top brass and the rank and file of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda all came together to greet civilians in the street parade.

They were backed by the Police iron band….which created alively atmosphere for the lawmen and women to dance through the streets.

Acting Commissioner of Police Atlee Rodney had a word of advice for the citizenry this Police week.

There have been a number of activities leading up to the march and a lot more lie ahead for the lawmen.

A Church Service officially kick things off on Sunday, a Night of Music, Open Day Exhibition at Police Headquarters, the Malcom Nicholas Cup and visiting the sick and shut-ins will also be a part of the week of activities.

31 officers will also be recognized for their long service and exemplary conduct at Government house, plus there will be the Police Calypso Show.

Arguably the most anticipated event of the week of activities will bea presentation by the police drama group called “Sibling Rivalry”.
