Ashe Opens the 68th General Assembly

Son of the soil and the President of the 68th General Assembly John W. Ashe, has outlined the need to lay the groundwork for global sustainable development in the years following the end of the current development cycle in 2015.

Ashe was speaking during the annual session which opened today (Wednesday) to a 193-Member State body and where scores of Heads of State will take to the podium next week in the annual general debate.
