POLICE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT SAYS INCREASED FINES CAN BE AVOIDED BY OBEYING TRAFFIC RULES
The police traffic department says it has been necessary to increase traffic fines to ensure a more effective deterrent against reckless actions on the nation’s roadways.
The increases come under the Vehicles and Road Traffic (Enforcement and Administration) Order 2022.
The fixed penalties have been increased from XCD$200.00 to XCD$500.00 for driving or riding in the front passenger seat of a motor vehicle without wearing a seatbelt.
There has been a similar increase for exceeding the speed limit.
