Antigua and Barbuda has become the first OECS state to sign an air services agreement with Germany.
Civil Aviation Minister, Hon. Sir Robin Yearwood has welcomed Tuesday’s agreement, hailing it as a major boost for tourism.
He says it provides the regulatory framework for strengthening tourism flows between Europe and the Eastern Caribbean, using Germany and Antigua as a crucial route.
Sir Robin says the agreement paves the way for the return of German carriers such as Condor.
Meanwhile, Germany’s ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Her Excellency Ute Konig has welcomed the development as she points to the traditional preference of German tourists for the Caribbean.
