Parliament’s Upper House has approved a resolution to benefit individuals who were fired from the public service within weeks of qualifying for a pension between 2004 and 2014.
Leader of government business Senator Mary Claire Hurst outlined how the action by the then UPP administration plunged several people into poverty.
