ELIGIBLE PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS BEGIN RECEIVING BACKPAY
The Government is making good on its promise to pay an advance on back pay to eligible public sector workers.
Prime minister and Finance Minister, Gaston Browne says payments of the equivalent of a month’s salary began on Thursday.
The authorities have been engaged in negotiations with unions representing public sector workers for a salary increase for the 2018 to 2020 period.
The Government had already given a 5 per cent increase in 2018, and is paying the advance on the back pay that will become due when the negotiations are completed.
