JUDGE TO RULE ON JUDICIAL REVIEW OF PERMIT FOR LUXURY DEVELOPMENT IN BARBUDA

A judicial review hearing concluded in the High Court on Monday that could determine the fate of a multi-million-dollar project at Cedar Tree Point in Barbuda.

Barbudan fisherman George Jeffrey is leading a legal challenge to the development permit granted for the Abercorn Trust to develop the property.

The claimants argue the Development Control Authority was wrong to have allowed construction inside what they say is a sensitive ecological area on the island.
