Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has congratulated Senator Kiz Johnson on her primary win in St Phillip South, calling it an astonishing victory in light of her brief campaign.
Johnson polled 167 votes, with her closest challenger securing 12 votes.
She was appointed a government senator on Friday, less than 24 hours following her emphatic victory in the primary.
Prime Minister Browne says empirical data show Johnson is poised to wrest the seat from the United Progressive Party’s Sherfield Bowen in the next general election.
