Antigua and Barbuda has been added to a list of countries from which travel to the United States has been suspended and limited. Dominica is the only other Caribbean country included in the latest group of 15 identified for ‘Partial suspension of entry for nationals of countries of identified concern.’ The information was contained in a new proclamation from United States President Donald Trump, who ties the inclusion of Antigua and Barbuda and Dominica to Citizenship by Investment Programmes without residency.

The proclamation says, “the entry into the United States of nationals of Antigua and Barbuda as immigrants, and as non-immigrants on B-1, B-2, B-1/B-2, F, M and J visas, is hereby suspended.”

The measure takes effect at 12:01am on January 1, 2026.

President Trump’s proclamation says “within 180 days of date of this proclamation, and every 180 days thereafter” key officials will submit a report to the president, recommending whether any suspensions and limitations should be continued, terminated, modified, or supplemented.”
