Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Williams Attend Commonwealth Day Reception

Governor General, Sir Rodney Williams and The Governor General’s Goodwill Emissary, Lady Sandra Williams, were welcomed warmly at St. James’s Palace in London Monday evening.

The Commonwealth Day Reception marked an official event on the Commonwealth Week celebrations and followed the Commonwealth Day Service held earlier in the day at Westminster Abbey.

Lady Williams’ attendance was particularly poignant as she serves as the President  of the Royal Commonwealth Society (Antigua & Barbuda Chapter), which is the local chapter of the Society responsible for planning the Commonwealth Day Service. Its overarching mission is to uphold the values of the Commonwealth Charter, promoting conflict resolution, peace-making, and democracy.

The  event was hosted by His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla.
