ABFA Appoints D. Zorol Barthley as General Secretary
The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of D. Zorol Barthley as General Secretary, effective June 1, 2026.
The appointment arrives at a pivotal moment for football in Antigua & Barbuda. The Association is intensifying preparations for the upcoming Concacaf Under-20 Championship while simultaneously advancing a broader agenda of administrative reform, stakeholder engagement, and long-term strategic development.
Mr. Barthley brings decades of executive experience spanning sports administration, tourism, logistics, event management, and regional operations. He is widely regarded as one of the Caribbean’s most accomplished sports administrators, with deep regional and international networks cultivated across sport, business, and event management.
A former West Indies Under-19 captain, Barthley has held a distinguished range of leadership roles, including:
– Chief Cricket Operations Officer, West Indies Cricket Board
– President, Antigua & Barbuda Cricket Association
– Vice President, Leeward Islands Cricket Association
– Deputy Chairman, Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Tournament Committee
– Sports Tourism Consultant to the Government of Antigua & Barbuda
– Former IPL Player Agent
– Chief Executive Officer (former) and current Chairman, PIC Insurance Company Ltd
ABFA President Ickford Roberts welcomed the appointment, describing Barthley as “a proven Caribbean sports executive whose experience, professionalism, and operational capabilities will be invaluable to the continued advancement of football in Antigua & Barbuda.”
