GOV’T TO SECURE NEW EQUIPMENT TO PUT BRAKES ON TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS

A major police crackdown on traffic violations is on the horizon, as the force is to receive new tint meters, breathalysers and radar guns.

Cabinet has approved the expenditure of US$30,000 to purchase the new equipment to tackle excessive speeding, drunk-driving and vehicles with tints well beyond the legal limit.

Police have been instructed to deal with illegal tints on the spot.
