A contingency meeting has been planned between members of the International Health Regulations as cases of the deadly Ebola Virus have been reported in different countries.
Local Medical Officer of Health Oreta Zachariah says an emergency plan will be put in place, just in case there is an outbreak.
Zachariah noted that the mandate of the International Health Regulations, is to ensure that the public is informed of the various communicable disease and measures of preventing them.
Chief Health Inspector Lionel Michael says Antigua and Barbuda has ensured that each regulation set by the organization is followed through.
Michael says the country benefits greatly from being a member, as first hand information about confirmed communicable diseases are passed on to each registered country.
