ABLP Administration Says No To Further IMF Engagements
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party administration has no plans to borrow from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Prime Minister, the Hon. Gaston Browne, says the IMF has done more harm than good for the country’s economy, especially the last program which was adopted by the former United Progressive Party (UPP) administration.
The nation’s leader says that he has already had discussions with mutual partners to pay off the current loan owed to the IMF.
Prime Minister Browne was the guest speaker at the Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce and Industry and IMF Western Hemisphere Department Economic Business Forum and Book Launch, held at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa.
