Tourists Not Spending

Training will be an important component of the drive to improve the cruise tourism sector.

The man at the helm of the cruise tourism association, Nathan Dundas, says surveys conducted by the cruise lines indicate that a lot of areas demand attention.

He further adds that there have been several complaints from the merchants and tour operators who operate in the Heritage Quay area that visitors are not spending.

Dundas says this could be linked to how visitors view their experience in a number of areas.

To this end, a major training workshop will be conducted in September.

It is hoped that all major stakeholders and partners to include: service ambassadors, customs officers, immigration officers, merchants and vendors, and police officers will attend.

Dundas says the initiative is still in its planning stage and more details will be made available upon finalization.
