HURRICANE COULD BE IN THE VICINITY OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA BY THIS FRIDAY
 
Residents of Antigua and Barbuda are being urged to be on alert as the twin island state could be impacted by a hurricane as early as Friday. The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has advised Tropical Depression 10 has formed in the Eastern Atlantic. At 11 AM Tuesday, it was located near latitude 12.9 North, longitude 44.9 West and is moving West North West near 12 mph. On this forecast track, the system will approach the Northern Leeward Islands Thursday night or Friday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts, and the Depression is forecast to strengthen into a Tropical Storm by later today. It is also forecast to become a hurricane by the time it approaches the Northern Leeward Islands.
