ANTIGUA & BARUBDA LIGHTING IT UP BLUE FOR AUTISM
Several buildings and homes in Antigua & Barbuda are glowing blue tonight to recognize World Autism Awareness day.
Mount St. John’s Medical Centre is leading the local push in the global light-it-up Blue campaign.
Holy Family Cathedral on Micheal’s Mount and Canada Place on Epicurean Drive have been supporting the cause since Thursday.
The hospital’s Public Relations Officer Salma Crump encourages everyone to keep the lights shining throughout April.
She also invites the public to join hospital staff in wearing blue April 9.
Crump says people should consider ways to reduce barriers that confront people with autism in Antigua & Barbuda and worldwide.
The light-it-up blue campaign seeks to unite the world to shine a light on autism and increase understanding of and acceptance for children, individuals, and families worldwide.
The hospital says it’s advocating for a more inclusive world for people with autism and other disabilities.
