SOCIAL SECURITY BOARD PROVIDES PAYMENT UPDATE
The Social Security Board is still struggling to make payments as the downturn in economic activity because of the COVID- 19 pandemic continues.
The Board’s Director David Matthias says there’s a backlog in payments.
He outlines the extent of the impact of the COVID- 19 pandemic on contributions.
Matthias says the government deciding not to cut salaries for its workers has allowed contributions from the public sector to remain consistent and keep the Board afloat.
He says the current situation is expected to continue for the rest of the year until the first half of 2022.
