AG Simon Speaks on Boundaries Case
The High Court on Wednesday turned down the opposition Antigua Labour Party’s (ALP) challenge to re registration process. Attorney General, Justin Simon QC on Thursday in the Lower House, outlined the details of the decision indicating that the party was unsuccessful.
Attorney General Stated:
The leader of opposition, Gaston Browne, was the claimant and the Attorney General and members of the Electoral Commission were the respondents. The Court of Appeal’s decision has subsequently caused the postponing of government’s planned debate of the Boundaries Commission Report in Parliament and will be stayed until January 7, 2014.
