PUBLIC SAFETY MINISTER WANTS WORKS MINISTRY TO “DO WHAT IS RIGHT” TO FACILITATE REPAIRS AT HIS MAJESTY’S PRISON

Attorney General and Public Safety Minister, Hon. Steadroy Benjamin has called on the Works Ministry to act with dispatch to facilitate crucial repairs to the roof of the remand area at His Majesty’s Prison.
The Minister told ABS News on Thursday evening this is crucial to national security since this has been exploited by some individuals to escape from the penal facility.
The Minister is concerned some officials in the Works Ministry are reluctant to have drawings passed on to ensure this aspect of the work can be speedily carried out by a private contractor.
