112 Ghanaian Nurses Arrive to Strengthen Antigua and Barbuda’s Health System

Antigua and Barbuda has welcomed 112 nurses from Ghana, marking what Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph calls a historic reconnection across the Atlantic. Speaking at a reception at VC Bird International Airport, the Minister told the nurses, “You are our brothers and sisters… you have rejoined your family,” adding that the two nations have been estranged for too long.

A formal welcoming ceremony is planned for Saturday, as arrangements are now underway to process passports and assign the nurses to their residences.

Officials from Ghana say the initiative reflects a deep commitment by both governments to cooperation, unity, and shared progress.
