Forbes Begins 30-Year Sentence for Murder

Delano Forbes has begun serving a 30-year prison sentence for the murder of Maurison Thomas.

He was sentenced by Justice Ann-Marie Smith last Thursday, after a High Court jury found him guilty December last year.

The court will review his sentence after 15 years, with a possibility of earlier release depending on the outcome of that review.

Thomas was killed in March 2018, after police had reported that Forbes escaped during an evidence-gathering visit the month before.

At the time, Forbes had already been charged in relation to the deaths of Wilfred “Bongo” Williams, Shawn Henry and Lisue Williams.

Forbes was later found not guilty of escaping lawful custody.

No date has yet been announced for Forbes’ three remaining murder trials.
