Members Sworn in For Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board
Members of the Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board have been sworn in by Governor General His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams during a ceremony at Government House.
The new chairman is Joy Dublin-Baptiste, with returning members David Matthias as director and ex-officio member, Alrick Daniel of the Antigua Trades and Labour Union, representing employees, Sherri-Ann Brazier representing employers, Martin Cave of the Chamber of Commerce representing employers and board secretary, Phylis Davis.
Dwayne Edwards is to be sworn in at a later date, while a deputy chairman is also to be named.
The board’s three-year term runs from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2029.
The Governor General urged the members of the Social Security Board to be diligent, independent in their judgement, transparent in their deliberations and always conscious “that the decisions you make affect the dignity and security of thousands of Antiguans and Barbudans.
Several statutory boards are being reconstituted following the April 30 general elections.
