SALVATION ARMY LAUNCES CHRISTMAS KETTLE DRIVE

Yes, it’s that time of year again when the Salvation Army rings in the spirt of giving and good cheer to help those most in need with its Christmas Kettle initiative.
The drive was launched earlier today at the Epicurean Fine Foods & Pharmacy and seeks to raise funds to help the less fortunate and vulnerable.
Major Jean Miller Contave says the projection is to raise 160-thousand EC dollars this year.
In 2020 during the height of the pandemic, the plan was to have raised 150-thousand, but this was surpassed when contributions reached in excess of 190-thousand dollars.
Acting Chair of the Advisory Board Senator Shawn Nicholas says the campaign is in need of not only finances but volunteerism.

Volunteers over the next few weeks will have kettles outside the Epicurean Fine Foods and Pharmacy, Shoul’s Chief Store, First Choice Supermarket, Shoul’s Toys Gifts and Hardware, Cost Pro, Chase Supermarket, and Perry Bay Supermarket.
The daily campaigns are from 10AM to 6PM today until Christmas Eve.
