NEW MINIMUM WAGE EXPECTED BY NEW YEAR’S DAY 2023

The government says a new minimum wage could take effect as early as January 1 next year.
Cabinet says it is expecting the minimum wage committee to submit its report within a few weeks following consultations with stakeholders on the issue for several months.
Information Minister the Hon. Melford Nicholas says the government is keen to receive the committee’s recommendations given the recent increase in living costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Eastern Europe.
