PM BROWNE PUSHES FOR DEEPENED LINKAGES WITH BRAZIL

Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has praised Brazil’s efforts to deepen engagement with Antigua and Barbuda and other countries of the Caribbean. Prime Minister Browne was speaking on Friday during the Brazil-Caribbean Summit in Brasilia.

Prime Minister Browne told the summit, “We look forward to strengthening people-to-people ties with Brazil. We also look forward to boosting trade, improving transport connectivity, and reinforcing regional supply chains and trade corridors, which are all essential steps toward achieving food security and building lasting resilience across Latin America and the Caribbean.”

Brazil makes up a third of Latin America and is a member of the BRICS alliance of major emerging economies.

Prime Minister Browne’s delegation also includes Ambassador to Caricom, Dr Clarence Henry, and Senior Foreign Service Officers, Kurt Williams and Zeina Hechme.
