Cuba and US Resume Talks
Tensions between Cuba and the United States remain high—but the two sides have quietly resumed direct talks.
Officials say the discussions focused heavily on US energy restrictions that are worsening conditions on the island. The Cuban government has confirmed it recently hosted us officials for talks in Havana—the First such visit in nearly a decade. Senior US diplomats reportedly traveled to the island earlier this month but neither side has confirmed when the meeting took place or who attended, but Cuban officials say discussions were conducted respectfully.
